this morning was a blast...
i got to teach an art class to a group of little ones...
it involved vegetables... peppers, cucumber, radishes, asparagus, broccoli, lettuce, celery, snow peas, carrots, potatoes...
and colorful paints...
vegetable printing...
have you ever tried this? if you haven't, you should give it a whirl... it's a neat experience for the kiddos and you'll have a good time, too...
it's fun to get messy with all of it... the textures, shapes and mixes of color...
i used a thicker paper... and acrylic paints...
{i love the variety of colors that acrylic comes in... be careful though, acrylic stains so wear an art shirt or something you don't mind getting paint on...}
these flowers were made using pepper rings, radishes, carrots, and snow peas...
depending on the age of the children, flowers may be too specific... a whole collage of prints turns out just as cute... and fun for the maker... it's all about the process when creating art with kids...
i love watching little hands at work...
these rainbow pepper rings turned out awesome...
look at all of the textures... the rose looking print was done by using the end of the celery stalk...
so... if you have some veggies that are almost past their prime... pull 'em out...
and let your kids create...
have a happy day~
